Privacy Policy

RideTracker is a private, invite-only app that motorcycle clubs use to plan rides, RSVP, share photos, and keep in touch. This policy explains what information the app at ridetracker.ca collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. RideTracker is operated by Rohit Joshi and Big Context Corporation.
You can only be in RideTracker if a club admin invites you, and your information is only ever visible inside your own club — never to the public or to other clubs. There is no public sign-up.
Information we collect
Your account and profile. When your admin invites you and you set up your account, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. In your profile you can also add a mobile phone number, your city, your motorcycle, and your preferred way to be contacted (email, text, or both). Your role in the club (member, ride organizer, or admin) is also stored.
Things you create in the club.As you use the app we store the content you add — rides you plan or RSVP to, photos and short videos you post to a ride's log, captions, comments, emoji reactions, stop reviews, and your answers to club polls, along with the date and time each was created.
Ride locations and routes. When a ride is planned, we store the meeting point, destination, and any stops — including their names, addresses, and map coordinates — so we can show the ride on a map and estimate distances. If someone uploads a GPX route file, we store that route track too. These describe rides, not your live personal location — RideTracker does not track where you are.
Technical information. When you sign in, we store a small session “cookie” on your device so you stay signed in (see Cookies below). We also record a “last active” timestamp so admins can see who's still using the app, and our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run the service and keep it secure.
How we use your information
- To run the app and show you your club's rides, photos, members, and messages.
- To send you ride coordination messages by email and/or text — such as ride invitations, RSVPs, poll notifications, and the “leaving soon” reminder about an hour before a ride — including the day's weather for that ride.
- To send you notifications about new photos and comments, at the frequency you choose.
- To keep your account secure and prevent misuse.
Messages and your choices
You control how you hear from RideTracker. In your profile you can choose to be contacted by email, text, or both, and you can set how often you get photo-and-comment notifications — as they happen, hourly, twice a day, once a day, or never. A small set of ride-coordination messages (ride invitations, the pre-ride reminder, poll notices, and messages an organizer sends about a specific ride you're on) are part of being an active member and are always on while you're in the club. If you no longer want any messages, ask your club admin to remove you from the club.
Who can see your information
RideTracker is a shared space for your club, so some of your information is visible to other members of your club: your name, city, motorcycle, and role appear in the members list, and any photos, comments, reactions, and poll responses you add are visible to the club. Your club's admins can additionally see and manage member details (including email and phone) to run the club. Your information is not visible to the public, and it is never shared with other clubs.
Service providers we work with
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising. To run the app we rely on a few trusted service providers that process information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their part of the service:
- Supabase — stores the database (your account, profile, rides, and content), handles sign-in, and stores your photos and videos.
- Vercel — hosts and serves the app.
- Resend — sends the app's emails.
- Twilio — sends the app's text messages and the codes for text-message sign-in.
- Mapbox — provides the maps and the address search used when planning a ride.
- Open-Meteo — provides the weather forecast shown for a ride (by location, not tied to you).
- Anthropic— if a club uses the optional AI help to draft a ride story, the ride's facts (such as distance and stops) may be sent to Anthropic to generate a draft. These drafts are deliberately written to never name individual people.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our members or RideTracker.
Where your information is stored
Several of the providers above (including Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Twilio, Mapbox, and Anthropic) operate servers in the United States and other countries. This means your information may be stored and processed outside of Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of those countries.
Cookies
RideTracker uses a single kind of cookie: an essential sign-in cookie that keeps you securely logged in as you move between pages. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as you're a member of a club on RideTracker. If you want your account and personal information removed, ask your club admin to remove you, or contact us at the email below and we'll take care of it. Note that content you contributed to the club — such as photos or comments on a shared ride — may remain visible to the club unless you or an admin deletes it.
How we protect your information
Information is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, passwords are stored only in a securely hashed form, and access to each club's data is enforced at the database level so members can only see their own club. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. To make any of these requests, contact us at the email below. Much of your information can also be updated directly in your RideTracker profile.
Children
RideTracker is intended for adult members of motorcycle clubs. It is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top.
